Shares of Mukta Arts gained 8 percent intraday Friday on taking cinema screen count in the country to 36.

"A 3-screen multiplex of Mukta Cinemas (a division of Mukta Arts) at Meerut has become operational on December 18 with films Dilwale and Bajirao Mastaani," says the cinema chain owner in its filing.

With this, total 36 screens of Mukta Cinemas are now operational. Earlier it opened a 2 screen multiplex at Rajpipla on Diwali day.

The company says almost 30 more are at various stages of completion for opening within next twelve months.

At 14:58 hours IST, the scrip of Mukta Arts was quoting at Rs 53.45, up Rs 1.15, or 2.20 percent.Posted by Sunil Shankar Matkar
