Haasan has been politically very active of late, often times levying corruption charges against the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu. He had congratulated the CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala for "good governance" on its first anniversary in May this year. He fuelled speculation about his expected political plunge when he attended an event organised by the DMK party in Chennai last month. Haasan had been opposing the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, whose political adversary DMK has voiced support for him.

The LTC allows the grant of leave and ticket reimbursement to employees who are entitled under the rules to travel to their home towns and other places, reports PTI. Any incidental expenses and the expenditure incurred on local journeys shall not be admissible under LTC, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday.

"The arrested accused will be produced before a competent court today," a CBI spokesperson said.
