The labour department has been in talks with the Maruti Suzuki India management and workers to end the now 12-day long strike at the Manesar plant.
It is being learnt that the labour department was in talks with the management and workers till late Tuesday. The talks are likely to resume on Wednesday with almost 40-45 outside unions supporting workers, sources said.
However, the strike doesn't seem to end any time soon. No consensus has been reached upon over the formation of new union at the plant, sources add.
It all began when 800 workers went on strike on June 4 demanding recognition of their new union and retention of contract laborers for the two upcoming units at the plant. (To know what the management had to say, click HERE)
