Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which was earlier sitting at the 5th spot, has gained 3 spots to become the runner-up in the top 10 selling cars of July 2017 with 19,153 units sold, this is also the highest ever sales of Baleno in a single month. Last month, Maruti Suzuki sold 9057 units of Baleno. The implementation of goods and services tax in the country also hampered the sales of sub 4-meter compact SUVs in India.

Overall Maruti Suzuki has recorded highest ever monthly sales in July 2017 with 1.65 lakh units marking a 20% growth. The compact segment contributed the most to the overall sales with 63,116 units, a growth of 25% as compared to July 2016 with 50,362 units. In this segment, the company offers cars like Swift, Dzire and Baleno. Surprisingly, 7 out of 10 top selling cars of July 2017 are made by Maruti Suzuki. Available in 12 variants with 3 engine and 2 transmission and 2 fuel options, Baleno ranges from Rs 5.26 lakh up to Rs 8.43 lakh.
