US President Donald Trump appeared visibly frustrated with reporters during a press conference in Malaysia at the 47th ASEAN Summit. Meeting Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on the sidelines in Kuala Lumpur, Trump faced questions from journalists but seemed reluctant to answer many.

At one point, he asked, “Who’s that shouting?” as a journalist attempted to question him. “Don’t shout,” he added, before praising Brazil and its president as “big” and “beautiful.”

In another instance, he refused to take a question from a specific journalist, saying, “Not you again, please.” Toward the end of the conference, he further dismissed queries, stating, “They’re not great questions today, I must say. That’s a lot of boring questions. We’ll see you later, thank you.”

Earlier, Brazil’s Lula had encouraged journalists to continue asking questions, saying, “We don’t have much time, and we don’t want to waste time or lose time talking with journalists. We have a lot to talk about. If you have patience, you’ll know the results of the meeting afterwards.”

Trump’s behaviour prompted criticism online, with some questioning the appropriateness of his conduct. Social media users highlighted his dismissiveness and labelled his treatment of a female journalist as potentially misogynistic.

“I feel SO bad for the journalists who have to put up with his BS responses & insults,” one Instagram user commented.

“He's triggered that he can't control the journalists in other countries,” added another, while a viewer wrote, “Feels like he is trying to make extremely rude behavior normal. So sad.”
