Moroccan-American rapper French Montana and Sheikha Mahra, a princess of Dubai, are engaged, according to TMZ. The couple, aged 40 and 31 respectively, officially formalized their relationship in June during Paris Fashion Week. This announcement follows closely on the heels of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement news.
Their relationship was publicly confirmed earlier this year at Paris Fashion Week. A representative for Montana confirmed the engagement to TMZ, stating that the couple formalized their relationship during the event in June.
Montana and Mahra’s wedding date and other details are still being decided.
Who is Sheikha Mahra?
Mahra is the daughter of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. According to Emirates Woman, she is recognized for her philanthropic work within the community and is also known for her passion for horses and equestrianism.
She completed her primary education at a private school in Dubai before moving to London, where she graduated with a degree in International Relations, as reported by Grazia.
Mahra’s mother, Zoe Grigorakos, who is originally from Greece, is reportedly divorced from Sheikh Mohammed.
Pervious marrigaes
The date for French Montana and Sheikha Mahra’s wedding has not yet been announced. The couple was seen together at Paris Fashion Week last month, shortly after Mahra’s divorce from Emirati businessman and royal Sheikh Mana, with whom she has a daughter. Following their breakup, Mahra reportedly took Montana on a tour of Dubai.
In a July Instagram post, Mahra publicly accused her ex-husband of adultery, writing, "Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take Care. Your ex-wife."
Montana was previously married to designer and businesswoman Nadeen Kharbouch from 2007 to 2014, and they share a 16-year-old son, Kruz Kharbouch. The couple has not spoken publicly about their relationship.
Former NBA player Paul Pierce praised Montana on a recent episode of the podcast The Truth after Dark, saying, "Man, I’m telling you. Us Black men, I’m telling y’all: we need to follow in French Montana’s steps. You see, cracking."
