The daughter of a longtime New Jersey police chief has filed a lawsuit accusing her father, a neighbour, and several others of subjecting her to more than a decade of sexual and ritual abuse, including allegations of satanic cult activity, child trafficking, and threats of violence.
Courtney Tamagny has alleged that she was abused by her father, Leonia Police Chief Scott Tamagny, neighbor Kevin Slevin, and others from the age of 4 to 15. The allegations include repeated sexual assault, threats, and what she describes as “satanic ritual abuse” carried out in both her home and nearby wooded areas.
According to the lawsuit, Tamagny claims the abuse was part of a wider pattern of cult activity that involved other residents in their North Jersey neighborhood. She says cult members used underground tunnels to perform secretive rituals involving animal and human burnings, drum circles, and the extraction of blood from children.
Speaking earlier this year on the podcast We're All Insane, Tamagny claimed her father’s family bloodline had long ties to the cult and that the abuse was meant to intimidate and silence victims. “Animal burnings, animal skins, and human burnings,” she said, describing the alleged ceremonies as deeply traumatizing.
The lawsuit further claims Tamagny’s sisters were also assaulted and drugged by their father while their mother was either away or asleep wearing earplugs. Tamagny says her father threatened to kill their mother if the abuse was ever reported.
She said she repressed memories of the trauma until 2022, when medical treatment for chronic genital pain triggered flashbacks. Her therapist later filed a formal abuse complaint, setting off the legal process.
Tamagny and her mother, Jeanne Tamagny, have since gone public with their allegations, sharing their story via podcasts, social media, and a Change.org petition demanding Chief Tamagny’s dismissal.
Both Scott Tamagny and Kevin Slevin have denied the claims. They say the allegations have already been thoroughly investigated, including by federal authorities. According to The New York Post, Slevin has filed a defamation countersuit against Tamagny.
