Turkey on Wednesday expressed solidarity with Pakistan hours after India avenged the deadly Pahalgam attack by launching precision strikes targeting 9 terrorist sites in the neighbouring country as well as Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

Turkish Amassador to Pakistan called on foreign minister Ishaq Dar to convey his country's solidarity with Pakistan in what he described as "India’s unprovoked violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty".

"The two sides discussed regional security concerns in depth and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation," the Pakistani foreign ministry posted on X.

Earlier, Turkey, which traditionally backs Pakistan, had explicitly recognised the Pahalgam incident as a “terrorist attack” and unequivocally condemned it.

It also did not made no reference to Jammu and Kashmir as a “disputed” territory.

India early Wednesday struck 9 locations in Pakistan and PoK that are known terrorist bases in retaliation to the deadly Pahalgam attack.
