Internet mocks Trump after stumble on Air Force One steps

US President Donald Trump stumbled on the stairs of Air Force One in New Jersey, and a video of the incident quickly went viral. Internet users were quick to draw comparisons to similar stumbles by former President Joe Biden during his time in office.

he President was boarding the plane shortly after heavy rainstorms had swept through the Bedminster area. Both President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared to briefly lose their footing while ascending the steps of Air Force One en route to Camp David.

Trump has often mocked Biden for his public stumbles, this time, social media turned the joke on Trump.

One X user said, "Donald Trump can’t walk up a flight of stairs, he’s unfit to be President. …am I doing it right?"

Another added, “Trump stumbles while boarding Air Force One. Joe Biden vibes or maybe characteristics of body double.”

"When Biden did this it was wall to wall coverage for days on right wing media and set a narrative. What do you want to bet it won't be mentioned now that Trump has done the same. Human beings trip imagine that."

"OMG! Marco Rubio just TRIPPED while walking up Air Force One immediately after Trump almost fell! According to MAGA logic, Rubio and Trump are mentally declining and need to be removed from office ASAP!" another user added.

Biden stumbling

During his presidency, Joe Biden experienced several stumbles while boarding Air Force One. In February 2024, he tripped twice while departing for Los Angeles, briefly losing balance after saluting military personnel at Andrews Air Force Base.

A year earlier, in February 2023, he also stumbled while boarding the plane at Warsaw's Chopin Airport after a visit to Eastern Europe marking the anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war. On both occasions, he quickly recovered and continued up the stairs.
