Speculation about Donald Trump’s health has intensified after footage from Alaska showed the 79-year-old US president appearing unsteady as he walked a red carpet to greet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The video, widely circulated on social media, shows Trump swaying and seemingly struggling to maintain a straight line.
The incident came as Trump hosted Putin at a US air base in Alaska, the Russian leader’s first visit to Western soil since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
While Trump hailed the talks as “extremely productive” and claimed that only a handful of issues remained unresolved, the president’s gait dominated online discussions.

Netizens argued that had former President Joe Biden displayed similar unsteadiness, the scrutiny would have been far more intense.
“If Biden did this, Fox would run a 72-part documentary and Hollywood would have made a movie,” one X user posted. Another quipped, “If that were a field sobriety test, he’d be on his way to jail.” Others mocked Trump’s posture, with one user likening his stagger to “a drunk toddler.”
Despite health concerns, Trump projected confidence, stressing that his meeting with Putin yielded progress. “Many points were agreed to… one significant issue remains,” he told reporters, without elaborating.
The incident comes weeks after the White House disclosed that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which veins in the legs fail to return blood effectively to the heart, leading to swelling, bloated ankles, and difficulty walking. Doctors noted that the ailment could explain the president’s unsteady movements.
