The post comes as Trump advances plans to construct a massive new triumphal arch in Washington DC to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.
According to a report by The Washington Post, the proposed monument, tentatively called the Independence Arch, is envisioned to rise 250 feet tall, towering over many of the capital’s most familiar landmarks. For context, the White House stands at about 70 feet, while the Lincoln Memorial reaches roughly 100 feet.
The new arch would occupy a site between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, dramatically transforming the city’s skyline and becoming a prominent feature of Washington DC.
This comes as Trump endorsed plans to build the world’s largest triumphal arch in Washington, DC, emphasizing that the capital deserves a monument reflecting America’s global stature.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said he wants the arch to be the “biggest one of all,” describing the United States as the world’s most powerful country. “For 200 years, they wanted to build an arch,” he added, outlining his vision for reshaping the capital.
