Friday’s visit, described by Trump as a “semi-annual” exam, marks only the second trip to Walter Reed this year.

US President Donald Trump, on Friday, received a clean bill of health following a “scheduled, follow-up evaluation” at Walter Reed Medical Center, his physician, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella has informed.

The White House released a one-page memo stating that Trump is in “exceptional and excellent overall health” and can “maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction.”

The note also highlighted that the president’s “cardiac age”, a measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG, is approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. Barbabella’s memo reaffirmed that Trump exhibits strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance, with all test results reported as “stable.”

Trump, who became the oldest person to return to the presidency at 79, underwent his second checkup at Walter Reed this year, following his annual physical in April. During Friday’s visit, he received preventive screenings and immunisations, including the updated COVID-19 booster and annual influenza vaccine, ahead of upcoming international travel.

The White House has previously disclosed that the president experienced swelling in his lower legs due to chronic venous insufficiency, a common and manageable condition in older adults, and minor bruising on his right hand, attributed to frequent handshakes and aspirin use.

Despite the positive assessment, medical experts have called for more detailed information.
