A Sarmiento line train derailed in Buenos Aires on Tuesday (November 11), leaving at least 19 people injured and disrupting service for several hours, authorities said.
After the derailment passengers were forced to evacuate the train and nine of the injured were taken to hospital, according to emergency services. City firefighters deployed two standard units, a special rescue team, a command post and a medical unit as a precaution.
Service on the commuter line was suspended for several hours but resumed shortly with delays. The cause of the derailment remains unclear.
