Colorado attack: Several injured after pro-Israel protesters set on fire

Several people were injured in a “targeted terror attack” in Boulder, Colorado, following a gathering of Jewish protesters advocating for the release of Israeli hostages, as described by US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel.

“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado,” FBI chief posted on X.

"Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available" he further added.

The Boulder Police reported that multiple people suffered burn injuries after being attacked by a man during a march for Israeli hostages at Pearl Street Mall in Colorado on Sunday.

Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn was quoted by Reuters as stating that the initial information was “very prelimnary”. The police chief said that multiple injuries were reported from the spot “ranging from very serious to more minor”

In a video from the incident in Boulder, a shirtless man holding spray bottles is seen pacing near flames burning on the grass. He is heard shouting: “End Zionists!”, “Palestine is free!”, and “They are killers!” toward individuals in red T-shirts who were assisting an injured person.

Redfearn told reporters, “Initial callers indicated that there was a man with a weapon and that people were being set on fire.” “When we arrived, we encountered multiple victims that were injured, with injuries consistent with burns and other injuries.”

The suspect was taken into custody on the spot without incident confirmed Redfearn.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations in New York condemned the violence, saying, “Terrorism against Jews does not stop at the Gaza border - it is already burning the streets of America.”

“Today, in Boulder, Colorado, Jewish people marched with a moral and humane demand: to return the hostages. In response, the Jewish protesters were brutally attacked, with an attacker throwing Molotov cocktails at them,” he said.

“Make no mistake - this is not a political protest, this is terrorism,” he added.
