U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed his attacks on the judiciary, this time targeting U.S. District Judge James Boasberg over a recently surfaced photo showing him standing alongside Douglas Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Such a conflict of interest!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, posting the image and reigniting accusations of bias against the judge, who has frequently ruled against his policies.

Trump intensified his criticism by calling for Boasberg’s impeachment after the judge temporarily blocked deportations under the Alien Enemies Act (AEA). He labeled Boasberg a “grandstander” whose rulings were “inept,” continuing his administration’s ongoing battle with the courts over immigration policies, according to BBC.
The dispute over the AEA deportations escalated after Boasberg issued an order halting the removals and directing any ongoing deportation flights to return to the U.S. The Justice Department pushed back, accusing Boasberg of "[c]ontinuing to beat a dead horse solely for the sake of prying from the Government legally immaterial facts."
During a tense hearing on Friday, Boasberg rebuked DOJ lawyers for their tone, stating their filings contained “intemperate and disrespectful language I’m not used to hearing from the United States.”
Despite the court’s intervention, the Trump administration remains defiant, with over 15 appeals currently pending, including challenges to rulings that curbed the power of Elon Musk’s Department of Governmental Efficiency.
With tensions mounting between the White House and the judiciary, Trump and his allies continue to push back against legal obstacles to their immigration agenda, setting the stage for further courtroom clashes in the weeks ahead.
