Small plane crashed in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on Monday morning, a small plane crashed on Route 195, killing two people, according to WBZ-TV I-Team sources. The Massachusetts State Police said the fixed-wing aircraft went down on the grassy median around 8:15 a.m. and immediately caught fire, forcing the closure of both directions.
Videos shared by motorists showed smoke rising from scattered, burning debris, with a damaged car visible near the wreckage, though it is unclear if the vehicle was involved. State police indicated the plane may have been attempting to land at New Bedford Regional Airport, but no flight plan or passenger details appear to have been provided.

The National Weather Service reported that a nor’easter was bringing heavy rain and winds of 30 to 40 mph (48 to 64 kph) at the time of the crash. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the westbound side of Route 195 at exit 19 would remain closed for several hours. Dartmouth is located about 57 miles south of Boston and 28 miles southeast of Providence, Rhode Island. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
