A Khalistani outpost, described as the ‘Embassy of Khalistan,’ has reportedly been established in Surrey, British Columbia, by the separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) in collaboration with the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara.

Following this development, a local radio station issued a strongly worded letter to British Columbia’s provincial leadership and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Maninder Gill head of the local radio station demanded  government scrutiny over a community centre built with $150,000 in provincial grants, now converted into ‘Embassy of Khalistan'.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Gill underscored that the building in question is a government-funded charitable structure intended for use not only by Sikhs but by people from around the world.

He questioned why a publicly supported facility is being linked to terrorism. Gill expressed his expectation that Prime Minister Carney’s administration will respond, despite his having written multiple letters to previous governments flagging extremist activity at the site.

Gill noted that a Gurdwara committee, supported by public funds, put up signage designating part of the building as the “Embassy of the Republic of Khalistan.” He urged authorities to act, arguing this move promotes separatist extremism underwritten by Canadian government grants.

In his letter to both the provincial premier and Prime Minister Carney, Gill asserted that a registered Canadian charity is operating in a way that undermines the sovereignty of India.

He emphasized that taxpayer-supported community infrastructure should not be used to advance extremist or separatist agendas. He further cautioned that using provincial grant money to host or promote a self‑declared “embassy” of Khalistan must be addressed urgently to prevent public funds from facilitating foreign political objectives.
