Initial video have surfaced showing the wreckage of the Russian An-24 passenger plane that disappeared on Thursday with 50 people aboard, including five children, four crew members, and two airline staff. Russian emergency services confirmed that the debris was located near the town of Tynda in the Amur region.

The wreckage was discovered 15 km from Tynda, on the slope of a mountain near the village of Kuvykta, in Russia’s eastern Amur region bordering China.

The local emergency ministry reported that the plane belonged to Siberia-based Angara Airlines. It vanished from radar while approaching its destination, Tynda, a town in the Amur region near the Chinese border, according to Reuters.

Eyewitness videos showed the aircraft flying unusually low and making a second circle before attempting to land. Preliminary information indicates there may be no survivors, but authorities have yet to confirm this. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
