Russia Offers Elon Musk Political Asylum Amid Feud With Donald Trump

Amid the feud between US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, Russian lawmaker Dmitry Novikov has suggested that the Tesla chief could seek political asylum in Russia.

"I think that Musk has a completely different game, that he will not need any political asylum, although, if he did, Russia, of course, could provide it," Russian news agency TASS quoted Dmitry Novikov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) as saying.

The lawmaker noted that over the years, Musk has formed "a kind of political communication", so "individual disagreements will remain separate disagreements."

"At this stage, the return of the Democratic team to the White House in three years is not what I think Musk needs and not what he is ready to applaud. Therefore, there are tactical differences, and there are strategic things, and he will adhere to them, it seems to me," he added.

This comes after former White House strategist and Tesla critic Steve Bannon called Elon Musk “an illegal alien” and said he should be deported from the United States. Bannon also urged the government to seize Musk’s company, SpaceX.

According to the Moscow Times, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the dispute when asked on Friday.

"This is a domestic issue of the United States, and we don't intend to interfere," Peskov told reporters. "We're confident the Us president will handle this situation on his own."

Some prominent people from Russia tried to joked amid the feud between the Musk and Trump, one senior official joked about hosting peace talks and another said Musk should bring his businesses to Russia.

”Elon, don’t be upset!” nationalist senator Dmitry Rogozin, who once ran Russia’s space programme, wrote on Musk’s X social media site. ”If you encounter insurmountable problems in the U.S., come to us. Here you will find reliable comrades and complete freedom of technical creativity.”

Dmitry Medvedev, a senior security official and former president, posted: ”We are ready to facilitate the conclusion of a peace deal between D and E for a reasonable fee and to accept Starlink shares as payment. Don’t fight, guys!”

Margarita Simonyan, one of Russia’s most powerful state media executives, mocked it as an example of ”modern U.S. political culture” — ”Sort of like the English Industrial Revolution. Only in reverse.”
