Robert F. Kennedy Jr., current Secretary of Health and Human Services, allegedly sent journalist Olivia Nuzzi a highly explicit poem during their so-called “digital affair,” according to her ex-fiancé and reporter Ryan Lizza. The poem, described by Lizza in his Substack article, contained sexualized imagery and graphic demands.

“Yr open mouth awaiting my harvest,” Kennedy Jr. wrote to Nuzzi in undated texts recounted by Lizza.

“I mean to squeeze your cheeks to force open your mouth. I’ll hold your nose as you look up at me to encourage you to swallow. ‘Don’t spill a drop.’ I am a river. You are my canyon. I mean to flow through you. I mean to subdue and tame you. My Love,” Kennedy allegedly added.

Lizza referred to the poem as American Canyon, noting there were “many others, too explicit to print.”

The revelations came after Nuzzi announced she would release a memoir titled American Canto, detailing her experiences. Lizza, who was previously engaged to Nuzzi, said she had developed a “near-total obsession” with Kennedy, which affected her personal and professional life.

Lizza also described how Nuzzi’s fixation manifested: she was reading “The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene alongside Ask Not, The Kennedys and the Women They Destroyed. Their interactions began in 2023 when Nuzzi interviewed Kennedy Jr. for a never-published story on then-SAG-AFTRA chief Fran Drescher. A subsequent hike in Los Angeles allegedly included Kennedy forcibly holding Nuzzi’s hand.

According to Lizza, Nuzzi later carried out “catch-and-kill operations on his behalf,” wrote campaign strategy memos, and committed “other journalistic transgressions that have still not been disclosed.” Upon discovering the extent of her involvement, Lizza wrote, “it was like waking up and learning [Nuzzi] was a heroin addict or joined a cult.”

Lizza recounted the dramatic breakup, noting that Nuzzi initially refused to return her engagement ring. He said, “People are going to ask me what happened … and I’m going to tell the truth.” Nuzzi allegedly feared that, “If anyone ever finds out … I’m afraid Bobby will kill me.”

This is not the first controversial relationship Lizza attributed to Nuzzi; he previously alleged she had an affair with former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford in 2020. Lizza admitted, “Yes, I know I should have run far away. But COVID lockdowns had just descended on Washington, and she had no place to go.”

In the most recent revelations, Lizza described discovering Kennedy Jr.’s poem and other messages while reviewing Nuzzi’s digital correspondence. He claimed the explicit texts introduced him to sexual acts he was previously unaware of, writing, “Thanks to Bobby, I am now aware of something called felching.”

Despite the intensity of the digital affair, Lizza confirmed that Nuzzi insisted she “never touched” Kennedy and that their interactions were carried out entirely through texts and phone conversations.

The story, published on Lizza’s Substack, comes as Nuzzi prepares to promote her memoir American Canto, reflecting on her emotional involvement with Kennedy Jr., whom she met when he was a presidential candidate.

Vanity Fair is reviewing Nuzzi’s status as West Coast Editor following prior revelations regarding her alleged relationship with Sanford. The Daily Mail has reached out to Kennedy’s HHS office, Nuzzi, and Condé Nast for comment.
