During his meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Mumbai on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted concerns over Khalistani extremism.
Starmer, when asked about discussions on reducing Indian imports of Russian oil, said, “We did discuss this and looked at, particularly, the outcome that we both want. Prime Minister Modi and I focus on ending this conflict and the various steps that could be taken, and that was a wide-ranging discussion, but we did set out the steps that we are taking in relation to energy, particularly on the Shadow Fleet and the work of the Coalition of the Willing...”

The leaders’ discussions spanned security and energy cooperation, highlighting the expanding India-UK strategic partnership.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday. Commenting on the landmark India-UK CETA, Modi said the agreement "will create new job opportunities for youth, expand trade and benefit both our industries as well as consumers."
He added that their talks covered trade, economic ties, technology, defence, AI, sustainable development, and renewable energy, among other areas.
On the Gaza peace plan, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, "I want to strongly welcome the news that a deal has been reached on the first stage of President Trump's peace plan for Gaza. This will come as a profound relief for the hostages and their families, and the civilian population in Gaza, and for the whole world. We will now work with our partners to ensure that this deal is implemented in full and without delay..."
