Kamla, 73, previously served as prime minister from 2010 to 2015, but her party lost the last two elections to the centre-left People's National Movement (PNM).
Kamla Persad-Bissessar, leader of the United National Congress (UNC), has emerged victorious in Trinidad and Tobago’s 2025 general election. According to local reports from Trinidad and Tobago Newsday, the UNC secured a win over the ruling People's National Movement (PNM) by 10:10 p.m. on April 28.
