The Afghan Taliban released footage on Wednesday showing drone strikes targeting Pakistani border outposts, amid one of the deadliest clashes between the two neighbors in years. Dozens of Pakistani soldiers have been reported killed or missing, while the Taliban have also suffered casualties.
Pakistan initiated the fresh round of hostilities by firing "light and heavy weapons" in Spin Boldak district, killing 15 civilians and injuring more than 100, claimed Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid. A hospital in the district said over 80 women and children were among the wounded, AFP reported.
The black-and-white footage, released by the Taliban, showed a drone dropping what appeared to be a mortar round onto a rectangular structure identified by the group as a Pakistan outpost, causing the roof to explode on impact.

The Pakistan Army stated that it repulsed multiple Taliban attacks on Wednesday, killing over 40 militants during separate clashes along the border. The Taliban reportedly targeted four locations in the Spin Boldak area of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan, all of which were effectively defended by Pakistani forces.
The situation has heightened tensions along the border, with both sides sustaining losses amid ongoing military engagements.
