Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Russia has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid traveling to Pakistan.
The advisory comes in light of the heightened security risks in the region after the April 22 attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
In a translated post on X, the Russian Embassy advised its citizens to "Against the backdrop of a new round of escalation in Pakistani Indian relations and bellicose rhetoric coming from a number of officials, we would recommend that Russian citizens temporarily refrain from visiting Pakistan until the situation stabilizes."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his condolences to India in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.
Putin's message read, "I would like to reiterate our readiness to further step up interaction with our Indian partners in the fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism." It added, "This brutal crime cannot be justified. We trust that its organizers and perpetrators will receive the punishment they deserve."
The relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated following the Pahalgam terror attack. The Resistance Front (TRF), a group widely considered to be a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
