MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh Meets Trump

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met US President Donald Trump in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special representative. This marked the first high-level interaction between an Indian minister and the US president since Operation Sindoor, taking place on the sidelines of the Gaza peace summit.

This decision came up after Prime Minister Modi received a last-minute invitation on Saturday from US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit.

A historic Gaza ceasefire agreement was signed during the Egypt summit, with US President Donald Trump praising the media for fair coverage and lauding the “tough people” involved in brokering the deal. The agreement coincides with the return of the final 20 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, who have been freed after more than two years in captivity.
