Imran Khan’s sisters claim Pak govt and Asim Munir plotting to kill former PM in custody

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters, Dr. Uzma Khan and Aleema Khan, have accused the Pakistani government and military of plotting to “kill” the jailed cricketer-turned-politician. During a press conference, they specifically named Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi as part of a “lethal conspiracy.”

According to Uzma Khan, Imran Khan had told her during a recent meeting, “These people will kill me; they have made a plan to kill me." Aleema Khan also highlighted concerns over her brother’s deteriorating eye health, stating he is being denied access to his trusted medical team.

The sisters have rejected reports from government-appointed doctors, insisting that Imran be examined by his personal physicians, Dr. Asim and Dr. Faisal, and treated under family supervision at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. Aleema said, "You have sent a team of doctors to the jail and ask us to accept it, or to accept the report provided by those doctors, that will not happen."

They further alleged that they have faced personal threats for speaking out. Uzma warned, “Mohsin Naqvi is threatening us; they have tasted blood. If anything happens to Imran Khan or to us, mark my words, we will not spare anyone's future generations either."

The sisters also raised concerns over the government’s refusal to allow a family representative during Imran’s medical evaluation. Aleema said, “The Govt rejected the specialist recommended by our doctors, so they were provided with alternative names… We then gave them our cousin Nausherwan Burki's name to represent the family. We are very disturbed when they rejected his name as well. This is unacceptable!"

These allegations have intensified the political standoff between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistani government, amid growing international concern over Imran Khan’s health. Several cricket legends, including Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Sunil Gavaskar, and Kapil Dev, have urged immediate attention to ensure the former PM’s safety and proper medical care.
