Emergency teams confirmed that the explosion had taken place close to the US embassy premises.

An explosion was reported near the US Embassy in Norway’s capital Oslo early Sunday. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Oslo police,  residents living near the diplomatic complex reported hearing a powerful blast during the night. Officers received multiple alerts about a loud blast in the area shortly after midnight.

Emergency teams were dispatched immediately and later confirmed that the explosion had taken place close to the embassy premises. Police said the entrance to the consular section of the diplomatic mission sustained minor damage.

Incident commander Michael Delmer said officers arrived at the scene soon after the reports came in and verified that an explosion had struck the US embassy building. While some limited damage was observed, investigators have not disclosed further details about the nature of the blast or what may have caused it.

Delmer said authorities would refrain from commenting on specifics related to the device, the extent of structural damage, or other technical aspects as the inquiry is still in its early stages. He added that law enforcement agencies are focusing on gathering evidence and assessing the situation before releasing additional information.

Police confirmed they are in contact with officials at the US embassy and have deployed significant resources to the location as part of the ongoing investigation. Security measures in the area were heightened while officers examined the scene.

The incident comes at a time when US diplomatic missions in several parts of the world, particularly in West Asia, have been placed on heightened alert amid escalating tensions linked to US military operations against Iran.

However, Norwegian police said there is currently no indication that the Oslo blast is connected to the ongoing conflict. Investigations is underway.
