Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is recovering after suffering from food poisoning, his office said on Sunday. The 75-year-old leader is being treated for intestinal inflammation and dehydration and is currently receiving IV fluids.

Despite his condition, Netanyahu will continue to fulfill his official duties while resting at home over the next three days, according to the statement.

Benjamin Netanyahu, 75, has faced a series of health challenges in recent years. In late December, he underwent prostate removal surgery, followed by a hernia operation in March 2024. That same month, he took a few days off from work due to the flu.

In 2023, Netanyahu had a pacemaker implanted after experiencing a transient heart block. Just a week prior, he was hospitalized for dehydration. Medical experts later disclosed that he has long dealt with a heart conduction issue.

Despite these concerns, a medical report issued in January 2023 — the most recent one made public — stated that Netanyahu was in overall good health, with no signs of heart arrhythmia and his pacemaker functioning properly.
