Political lobbyist Jason Miller, who leads the lobbying firm hired by the Indian government, recently met President Donald Trump in Washington amid renewed tensions over US-India trade and tariffs.
Miller shared a photo from the White House, describing his visit as a “fantastic week in Washington” and noting that it was capped by the opportunity to “see our President in action.” On X, he wrote: “Fantastic week in Washington with so many friends being in town, topped off, of course, by having the opportunity to stop in and see our President in-action! Keep up the great work.”

While the official agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, the timing is significant, as US-India trade relations are under fresh scrutiny and bilateral economic strategies remain a key focus.
Miller, a close Trump confidant, is a registered foreign agent representing Indian interests in Washington. Public filings show that he has lobbied on behalf of India’s government.
In April, the Indian government contracted Miller’s firm, SHW Partners LLC, for a one-year, $1.8 million engagement. The arrangement includes a monthly fee of $150,000, under which SHW provides “strategic counsel, tactical planning, and government relations assistance on policy matters before the US Government, the US Congress, state governments, academic institutions, think tanks, and other relevant stakeholders,” the firm said in April.
Who is Jason Miller
Jason Miller gained prominence during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign as the chief media spokesperson. He was initially considered for the role of White House communications director but withdrew after accusations of an extramarital affair and subsequent allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced.
Despite the controversies, Miller has continued to work closely with Trump, advising him during both the 2020 and 2024 campaigns. In 2020, he formally registered as a lobbyist through SHW Partners LLC, the firm now representing Indian government interests in Washington.
