India has extended its restrictions on Pakistani aircraft entering its airspace until August 23, 2025, citing strategic and security concerns. The move follows Pakistan’s decision to prolong its airspace closure for Indian aircraft until the morning of August 24.
A fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued on Tuesday to formalize the extension.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, announced the development on Tuesday via X (formerly Twitter). "Update on Airspace Restriction. The Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restricting Pakistani aircraft from entering Indian airspace has been officially extended until 23rd August 2025," Mohol said in his post.

India has also issued a NOTAM for a significant Indian Air Force (IAF) exercise set to take place from July 23 to 25 in Rajasthan, along the India–Pakistan border. The drill will cover areas ranging from Barmer to Jodhpur.
The recent NOTAM restricting civilian flights follows heightened tensions along the India–Pakistan border, triggered by Pakistan’s drone and missile incursions during Operation Sindoor. These attacks targeted Rajasthan’s border districts, including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar.
