A Hamas source told news agency AFP on Monday that the Palestinian militant group had accepted a fresh ceasefire proposal in Gaza, which has been battered by more than 22 months of conflict with Israel.
"Hamas has delivered its response to the mediators, confirming that Hamas and the factions agreed to the new ceasefire proposal without requesting any amendments," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Earlier the same day, a Palestinian official told AFP that the mediators’ plan included a 60-day truce and the release of hostages in two stages.
