Canadian musician Grimes has claimed that her former partner and tech billionaire Elon Musk has blocked her on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, after users noticed she no longer appeared to follow him.
Responding on X, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, said the move came from Musk and stressed she was not interested in public drama. “For context, I'm just living my life. He followed me, then blocked me. I'm not going to be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co parenting, I am not interested in public dramatics. This is so silly lol,” she wrote.
Grimes and Musk were first linked in 2018 and share three children, X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus. After an on-and-off relationship, they split permanently in 2022.
In October 2023, Grimes filed a petition to establish parental rights for all three children and has since spoken publicly about custody disputes and her concerns over their children being exposed to public life without her consent.
Earlier, Grimes had criticised Musk for bringing their son X to high-profile public events, saying she had tried legal avenues to protect her children’s privacy. She has also revealed that the prolonged custody battle affected her personal life and delayed the release of new music, describing the period as deeply distressing.
