Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, strongly criticized US President Donald Trump after the announcement of a significant tariff increase on imports from multiple countries, including India.
China has firmly opposed the decision, with Ambassador Xu indirectly calling Trump a "bully" and denouncing the use of tariffs as a means of coercion.
“Give the bully an inch, he will take a mile,” Chinese envoy Xu Feihong posted on X on Thursday, without naming Trump directly.

“Using tariffs as a weapon to suppress other countries violates the UN Charter, undermines WTO rules, and is both unpopular and unsustainable,” he opined.
China has openly condemned the tariff escalation, voicing strong disapproval of what it sees as hostile trade tactics.
He also cited a recent exchange between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Celso Amorim, chief advisor to Brazilian President Lula, to reinforce his argument.
