Dubai now has the world's tallest hotel

Dubai Marina now boasts a new architectural landmark, Ciel Tower, officially the world’s tallest hotel at 377 meters.

The towering structure, which has been developed by The First Group, was not originally intended to break records, according to CEO Rob Burns. “We knew we wanted to build something spectacular,” Burns told CNN, adding, “But we certainly didn’t plan on building the tallest hotel in the world.”

More about the hotel

Architect Yahya Jan, as quoted by CNN, said, “It was a very challenging project for us,” Jan added, “It’s an irregularly shaped property. For a tower of this size the property could have been bigger. But I always say, you do your best work when you are challenged the most.”

The entrance and lobby are reportedly present with soft lighting and curved lines. The 82-story tower has 1,004 rooms. The rooms range from minimalist King Deluxe rooms to premium suites and each of them has been designed to make the most of the city and sea vistas, as per Gulf News.

Ciel Tower has incorporated distinctive architectural features to manage its height and exposure to wind.

A vertical cutout near the top, referred to as the “eye of the needle,” allows wind to pass through the building, reducing load on the structure. Atriums placed every six to eight floors contain trees and greenery, providing natural light, cooling, and communal spaces for guests.

The hotel's opening

The opening of the hotel has already shown that it is popular and highly demanded, Gulf News has reported. As of now, according to reports, only 200 rooms are available but all of them are fully booked during the peak season.

Speaking of rates, the King Deluxe rooms from December 8–12 start at Dh1,436 per night and top-tier One Bedroom Suites with lounge access and luxury bath views reaching Dh4,736.

Gulf News reported that the prices will ease in mid-January, with King Deluxe rooms available at Dh936 per night and premium suites ranging from Dh1,206 to Dh1,934 per night.

Ciel also offers elevated lifestyle and wellness experiences. The Tattu Sky Pool complex includes three outdoor pools, among them one of the world’s highest infinity pools on Level 76, though access requires reservations and an additional charge.

The hotel features a 24-hour gym and a dedicated spa on Level 61, set to open in February 2026.
