A 23-year-old Indian student, Charanpreet Singh, has been hospitalized after being brutally assaulted on a street in Adelaide, Australia. The incident, reported by the Australia Times, has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns about the safety of international students in the country.

According to reports, the incident occurred on July 19 around 9:22 a.m. near Kintore Avenue, when Charanpreet Singh was out with his wife. The couple had just parked their car to view the city’s light displays when they were allegedly ambushed by a group of five men.

“They just said, ‘F**K off, Indian,’ and after that they just started punching," he recalled.

Singh was violently assaulted after what he described to 9News as a car park dispute quickly escalated.

He reported being punched through his car window, dragged out, and severely beaten with fists and weapons, including metal knuckles. "I tried to fight back, but they beat me until I was unconscious," Singh recounted from his hospital bed.

Eyewitnesses and social media video footage corroborate that the attackers emerged from another vehicle, confronted Singh, and began their brutal assault.

Singh was left unconscious on the road, suffering serious injuries including facial fractures and brain trauma, as reported by The Australia Today.

He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where doctors found brain trauma, facial fractures, a broken nose, and severe eye injuries, requiring surgery and an overnight stay.
