After Ghibli-Style art mania, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman promises 'cute computer'

Ghibli this, Ghibli that, the entire world wide web has been transformed into one Ghibli Studio thanks to the wildly popular image generator tool by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. But this is not enough for Sam Altman.

The CEO of OpenAI has made a new promise to the netizens. After the overload of cuteness from Ghibli-style art, Altman says that there will be some endearing trait in the next computer that he makes. In a reply to a comment on X, where the user said that the computers should be cute, Altman chimed in and said, “we are gonna make a rly cute one.” When someone enquired as to how he defines the cuteness in a computer, Altman promptly replied, “the computer you most want to use cute.” “Ghibli computer,” an AI enthusiast who goes by the X handle ‘material sphere’ said.

While the jury is out as to when and how Altman will introduce ‘cute computers’ to the world, the Ghibli-style art has led to some exghustion in the backrooms of ChatGPT it seems. In a separate post, Altman sounded a little worn out when he asked everyone to “chill out a little.” In a post on Sunday, Altman wrote, “can yall please chill on generating images this is insane our team needs sleep.”

When someone teased him to “fire the team,” Altman shot back saying, “no thanks. in addition to building agi this team is on trajectory to build the biggest website in the world from a cold start 2.33 years ago.” Lauding them as “best team in the world,” ChatGPT boss, however, added “it's just hard.” While the Ghibli-style has gained lot of traction, ChatGPT has found itself in a new controversy. OpenAI has been accused of using Hayao Miyazaki’s work without his permission. The Japanese legend is the original creator of Studio Ghibli.
