The FBI has launched a manhunt for Donald Henson, who allegedly rammed his car into the gate of the agency’s field office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Officials said they are treating the incident as “an act of terror against the FBI.”

According to The Guardian, Christopher Giordano, the FBI’s special agent in charge of the investigation, said Henson is from Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. He reportedly drove at high speed toward the main entrance gate at about 2.40 a.m.

The agency noted that “some vulgarity” was written on the side of Henson’s white Toyota Corolla. After the crash, he exited the vehicle, pulled out an American flag and threw it over the fence before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.

“We look at this as an act of terror against the FBI,” Giordano said. “This was a targeted attack on this building. Thankfully no one was hurt, but we are going to exhaust every ability we have under the federal law to find, apprehend and prosecute this subject to the fullest extent.”

Giordano said investigators are appealing for tips from the public to help locate the suspect. “We’re hoping by putting his photograph and his name out there, that we will start getting some tips from the public,” he said.

In a post on X, FBI Pittsburgh shared a photo of the white Corolla lodged into a fence, with law enforcement officers seen retrieving a black flag from the vehicle’s trunk. The post read: “The public is asked to please call 911, call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or make a report online at http://tips.fbi.gov.”

Officials also confirmed that this was not Henson’s first visit to the FBI office. “He did come here to the FBI field office a few weeks ago to make a complaint that didn’t make a whole lot of sense,” Giordano said.
