India on Wednesday delivered a sharp rebuke to Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council, highlighting the hypocrisy of a country with a questionable human rights record attempting to lecture others. The criticism came during the 34th Meeting of the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

Indian diplomat Mohammed Hussain did not mince words, stating, “India finds it deeply ironic that a country like Pakistan seeks to lecture others on human rights. Instead of spreading propaganda, Pakistan should confront the persecution of minorities on their own soil." His remarks underscored long-standing concerns about Pakistan’s treatment of vulnerable communities and its consistent failure to address internal human rights challenges.

The session also saw international observers raising alarm over Pakistan’s domestic situation. Geopolitical researcher Josh Bowes drew attention to ongoing human rights violations, particularly in the restive province of Balochistan. Bowes’ comments reinforced India’s point, highlighting Pakistan’s repeated pattern of suppressing minorities and dissent while projecting a moralistic stance on the global stage.

India’s intervention at the UNHRC reflects growing frustration with Pakistan’s attempts to gain credibility in international forums despite widespread evidence of systemic human rights abuses at home. The criticism signals that Pakistan’s domestic failings are increasingly being scrutinized and challenged by the international community.
