An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude struck Turkey's capital city - Istanbul on Wednesday, prompting people to evacuate buildings as tremors were felt across the city. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles).
Turkey's disaster agency has recorded a series of tremors in a matter of minutes, all of them along the coast of the Sea of Marmara, and close to Istanbul, reported BBC. The strongest was the second tremor of 6.2 magnitude.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
