The United States has struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran in the first ten days of Operation Epic Fury, according to an operational summary released by US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The military campaign, launched on February 28, 2026 under the direction of President Donald Trump, involves a wide range of American air, naval and missile systems targeting Iranian military capabilities and locations described by the US military as posing an imminent threat.
According to the CENTCOM operational overview, the campaign has already damaged or destroyed 50 Iranian vessels during the first ten days of fighting.
Wide range of US air power deployed
The operation includes a broad mix of American combat aircraft.
CENTCOM said the campaign involves long-range bombers including B-1, B-2 stealth bombers and B-52 bombers, supported by advanced fighter aircraft such as F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22 stealth fighters and F-35 stealth fighters.

Other aircraft participating in the operation include the A-10 attack aircraft and EA-18G electronic attack aircraft, which are designed to conduct electronic warfare and disrupt enemy radar and communication systems.
Intelligence and surveillance support
Intelligence and surveillance platforms are providing operational support to the campaign.
CENTCOM said these include the U-2 Dragon Lady reconnaissance aircraft, RC-135 surveillance aircraft, and P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, which help track Iranian military movements and monitor activity across the region.
Unmanned systems are also playing a significant role in the operation.
The operational summary lists MQ-9 Reaper drones and LUCAS drones, which are being used for both surveillance and strike missions.
Missile defence and naval assets
Missile defence systems are being used to protect US forces and allied assets operating in the region.
These include the Patriot interceptor missile system and the THAAD anti-ballistic missile system, according to the CENTCOM summary.
Naval assets form another component of the campaign. Nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and guided-missile destroyers are supporting the air campaign, while refuelling ships are sustaining long-range operations at sea.
Logistics and support infrastructure
The operational overview also details the logistics network supporting the campaign.
Transport aircraft including C-17 Globemaster cargo aircraft and C-130 cargo aircraft are moving equipment and supplies needed to sustain the large-scale military effort.
Additional supporting systems include counter-drone platforms, airborne early warning aircraft, communication relay systems and counter rocket, artillery and mortar defence systems, according to CENTCOM.
Targets include IRGC facilities and missile infrastructure
CENTCOM said the targets struck during the campaign span a wide range of Iranian military infrastructure.
These include command and control centres, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) headquarters buildings, intelligence facilities and integrated air defence systems.
Other targets listed in the operational overview include ballistic missile sites, anti-ship missile locations, Iranian navy ships and submarines, military communication networks, and facilities linked to ballistic missile and drone manufacturing.
The summary also notes that the mission involves “special capabilities we can’t list here,” indicating that additional classified systems are being used in the campaign.
Campaign launched on February 28
Operation Epic Fury was launched on February 28, 2026, according to the CENTCOM operational overview.
The campaign represents a large-scale deployment of US military assets across air, sea and missile defence domains aimed at Iranian military capabilities.
CENTCOM said the operation continues to involve a combination of strike aircraft, surveillance systems, naval forces and logistical support platforms as the campaign progresses.
