The fourth edition of the Chennai Flower Show began on January 2, 2025, at Semmozhi Poonga, promising an 18-day extravaganza of floral artistry.
Inspired by the Ooty Flower Show, this year’s event showcases over 30 lakh varieties of flowers and flowering plants arranged in three million pots, forming stunning shapes like elephants, peacocks, trains, and butterflies.
Flowers have been sourced from across Tamil Nadu, including Ooty, Yercaud, Kodaikanal, and Krishnagiri, to create a vibrant and breathtaking display. Inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, the show, initially set to end on January 11, has been extended to January 19 due to overwhelming public interest.
Visitors can enjoy rare plant species, including over 800 varieties, with highlights such as petunias, marigolds, delphiniums, and begonias. Floral sculptures of animals and birds are specially crafted to delight children. Flowers and pots are also available for purchase at the venue.
Entry is priced at Rs 200 for adults and Rs 100 for children, with visiting hours from 10 AM to 7 PM daily.
The Chennai Flower Show 2025 is expected to draw hundreds of visitors to Semmozhi Poonga, a beloved spot for city residents, offering a perfect outing for families and nature lovers.
