India has many islands that have not been affected by the tourist traffic. These remote areas are a mix of pristine beaches, coral reefs, vegetation and exotic cultures. The ten secret islands are genuinely paradise-like.

Kadmat Island, Lakshadweep

A serene coral island with lagoons ideal for snorkelling and diving, Kadmat has turquoise water, palm-trees beaches and a slow pace of the island that is best suited to relaxation.

Lakshadweep Bangaram Island

Bangaram is uninhabited and peaceful, being covered by clear lagoons and soft sands. Its solitude is ideal for stargazing, walking along the beach and having an actual feeling of escape.

Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep

Unique with its crescent lagoon and lighthouse, Minicoy is a mixture of rich marine life, colourful boats and a very strong local culture that gives the island life a deeper aspect.

Lakshadweep, Thinnakara Island.

Thinnakara is a place near Agatti providing little development and a clean environment. It is a perfect place to be in when one is a nature lover who needs tranquil beaches and coral reefs.

Munroe Island, Kerala

Munroe is a film set in the backwater of Kerala, which is very rural and has a cluster of small islets packed with coconut groves, canals and traditional life.

Majuli Island, Assam

Majuli is the largest river island in the world and has monasteries, culture and birds along the Brahmaputra, which forms a balance between spiritualism and nature.

Divar Island, Goa

Divar, just on the other side of the Mandovi River, is filled with Portuguese-era houses, paddy fields and narrow lanes, which provide a serene alternative to Goan beaches.

Netrani Island, Karnataka

Uninhabited and heart-shaped, Netrani is a location where people can go to dive and snorkel, with coral gardens and clear waters full of marine life.

St. Mary's Islands, Karnataka

St. Mary's is known to have the basalt rock features, which are not seen anywhere else in the world, and offer serene beaches, as well as spectacular coastal landscapes.

Pirotan Island, Gujarat

It remains clean with Pirotan having mangroves and tidal flats within one of the marine parks off Jamnagar, which is only accessible with permission.

These islands demonstrate how the Indian hidden coastlines blend nature with culture and provide serene getaways to the mainstream markets.
