Udhayanidhi Stalin serves as the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development in the Tamil Nadu government and is an elected MLA from the Chepauk–Thiruvallikeni constituency.
Before entering politics, Udhayanidhi was active in the Tamil film industry as both a producer and actor. His production house, Red Giant Movies, produced several successful films, and he made his acting debut with Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in 2012.
Udhayanidhi Stalin is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and the grandson of late DMK leader and five-time Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
Although active in DMK party circles earlier, Udhayanidhi formally stepped into active politics around 2019. He contested and won his first election in 2021 from the Chepauk–Thiruvallikeni seat.
