He highlighted that India had already targeted and destroyed terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in response to the April 2025 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives
The defence ministry said in the readout said, "In the meeting, the seven empowered groups of secretaries briefed the IGoM on the steps being taken to tackle the situation."
The commissioning ceremony will be held in the presence of senior naval officers, flag officers and other dignitaries at the naval dockyard.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made the remarks while chairing the first meeting of the Informal Empowered Group of Ministers (IGoM) set up to monitor the situation in West Asia.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual interaction with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors to review state-level preparedness.
The meeting that was held in New Delhi was attended by all three service chiefs, Chief of Defence Staff and other key officials of the defence ministry.

Rajnath Singh backed prime minister’s approach to the West Asia situation, stating, “The efforts being made by Modi ji at a global level to resolve this crisis deserve full support.”
Warning about the impact of the conflict on energy security, Singh highlighted the importance of the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Persian Gulf region for global oil and gas supplies.
The discussions between Singh and his French counterpart, Catherine Vautrin, covered a wide spectrum of defence and security cooperation, including co-development and co-production initiatives
The procurement will be executed under the Fast Track Procedure
