




Investments cleared in the 55th SHLCC meeting include two proposals by Elest Pvt Ltd in Hubli/Dharwad, Hyunet Private Ltd in Bagepalli taluk of Chikkaballapur, Miraculum Green Power Pvt Ltd in Jagalur Taluk of Davengere and Sanali Power Pvt Ltd in Jagalur on Taluk of Davengere.
It was important to consolidate gains made after great efforts in the last eight months to contain the disease in the state, the panel said, pointing to the spike or resurgence of cases in Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan and others.
This would be a strong contribution to the one trillion USD dollar digital economy target set by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, C N Ashwath Narayan said.
The development has raised some eyebrows in political circles as this is the second such meeting between the two after the BJP came to power last year following the collapse of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government headed by Kumaraswamy.
The statement has come days after Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa had rubbished similar claims by Siddaramaiah terming it "irresponsible" and had even said the latter will be removed as leader of opposition by the Congress, following the party's defeat in bypolls to two assembly segments in the state.

The chief minister's outburst was against leader of opposition Siddaramaiah's allegation during the no-confidence motion, moved by the Congress veteran against the BJP government, that Vijayendra took bribe from a Bangalore development authority contractor.
Yediyurappa earlier in the day had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held discussions regarding various issues concerning the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister exuded confidence that the air ambulance service will improve the connectivity of these peripheral healthcare centres to the big tertiary centres in the cities.
In his message to the people of the state on the occasion of 74th Independence Day, the Chief Minister while pointing out the challenges faced by rain, floods and drought along with COVID-19, also defended the reforms brought in by his administration.
"After recovering from COVID-19 completely, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has been discharged from the Manipal Hospital," an official statement said here.
State Agriculture Minister B C Patil too thanked Modi for selecting Karnataka for launching the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund of Rs one lakh crore and releasing Rs 17,000 crore under PM Kisan scheme.
In a series of tweets, Yediyurappa, under treatment for coronavirus in a private hospital, said, "after centuries, the coronation of Lord Rama will take place in Ayodhya..."
Manipal Hospital, where Yediyurappa has been admitted said that the Chief Minister was "doing well" and is "clinically stable" and will be monitored closely by our team. Authorities are tracing all those who came in contact with Yediyurappa for the last three or four days and have asked all those who met him to quarantine.
He also said the government would extend support on priority basis to the Biotechnology sector, calling it the "power" of the state's economy.
An average of about 98 percent of 8.5 lakh odd enrolled students took the exams which began on June 25, after the government stuck to its decision to go ahead with them despite rising coronavirus cases but laid down a string of safety measures, including face masks and maintaining distancing by seating only one student a bench.
