Xiaomi launches Buds 5 Pro with spatial audio and Wi-Fi in China: Price, India launch and other details

Xiaomi has launched the Buds 5 Pro in China alongside the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones come in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi variants, with features such as active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 55dB, call noise reduction, and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

In addition to these, the Wi-Fi model brings support for high-resolution lossless audio transmission. The earphones are tuned by Harman and claim to offer up to 40 hours of battery life with the charging case.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro Bluetooth variant is priced at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 15,600), while the Wi-Fi model costs CNY 1,499 (approximately Rs. 18,000). The earphones are available for purchase in China via the Xiaomi e-store.

The Wi-Fi model is offered in Mirage Black, while the Bluetooth variant is available in Snow Mountain White and Titanium Gold colour options. The earbuds are up for sale in China. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the launch details of the earbuds for the global market, including India.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro features an in-ear design and feature a dual amplifier and triple driver system, which includes 11mm titanium-plated woofers and 10mm ceramic tweeters. The earphones support audio tuning by Harman AudioEFX and offer spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

Both variants support up to 55dB ANC and up to 100dB call noise reduction. The earphones include in-ear detection and touch controls. The Bluetooth model features Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and supports AAC, SBC, aptX Lossless, and aptX Adaptive LC3 audio codecs. The Wi-Fi variant supports the aptX Adaptive 4.2M codec, which is claimed to enable lossless audio transmission at up to 4.2Mbps.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro are IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance. They offer a total playback time of up to 40 hours with the charging case. The Bluetooth variant provides up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, while the Wi-Fi version offers up to 10 hours.
