Xiaomi recently introduced its latest flagship 17 series, which includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The lineup might get another handset in the coming months, which is rumoured to be called the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Now, a reputed tipster has shared the expected camera configuration and purported back design of the smartphone, which, like the rest of the lineup, is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

In a post on Weibo, tipster Digital Chat Station has added that Xiaomi’s upcoming ultra-flagship smartphone will feature a brand-new 50MP sensor on its main camera with ‘enhanced ISZ’ support, enabling “lossless focal length integration.’ Further, the post adds that the phone could also get a 200MP periscope camera, featuring 4x4 RMSC support for ‘multi-focal-length lossless zoom’ and ‘telephoto macro’ capabilities.

Both these advanced lenses are claimed to provide a high dynamic range, suggesting a major step up in overall photography performance on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, compared to its predecessors. This aligns with the previous leaks of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which suggested that the phone will have a quad-camera setup with three 50MP cameras and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.

Moreover, the tipster has mentioned that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a large round camera module that occupies a significant portion of the back panel. This means that the device may not include a secondary display like the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max smartphones. Aside from cameras, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to boast the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Moreover, it could have a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 2K resolution.
