Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite processor launched in China

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphones in China. Both of these devices are the first ones globally to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Xiaomi 15 series launched

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its flagship smartphone series, which includes the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, in its homeland today. Both smartphones run on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and come with advanced features. Moreover, the Xiaomi 15 series runs on HyperOS 2 and comes with a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup.

Xiaomi 15 series: Price

The base Xiaomi 15 model is priced at CNY 4,499 (around Rs 52,000). It comes with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Next, the 12GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 4,799 (around Rs 56,000 and the 16GB + 512GB model costs CNY 4,999 (around Rs 58,000). The flagship version with 16GB + 1TB configuration is priced at CNY 5,499 (around Rs 65,000). The Xiaomi 15 is available in Asakusa Green, Bright Silver Edition, Black, Lilac, and White colour shades.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a starting price of CNY 5,299 (around Rs. 62,500) for the base 12GB + 256GB model. Further, the 16GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 5,799 (around Rs 68,000) for the 16GB + 512GB trim. Its flagship 16GB + 1TB configuration is available for CNY 6,499 (around Rs 75,000). The Xiaomi 15 Pro is available in Bright Silver Edition, Rock Ash, Spruce Green, and White colour shades.

Xiaomi 15 series: Features

The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a bigger 6.73-inch 2K micro-curved OLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones have LTPO support and have a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. Both smartphones are also powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 15 features a 50MP LightHunter 900 primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.2X optical zoom support. On the other hand, the Pro model has a 50MP periscope lens instead of a telephoto sensor and supports 5X optical zoom. Both devices come with a 32MP selfie camera.

The Xiaomi 15 has a 5,400mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. In contrast, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a 6,100mAh battery with similar charging speeds. Both smartphones are also the first ones to boot with HyperOS 2.0 OS with Android 15 out of the box.
