Meta hosted its annual Meta Connect event at its Menlo Prak Campus recently and announced new features for its social media apps, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The company has also announced a new Meta AI update on WhatsApp, that enables real-time conversations by speaking to Meta AI, which offers contextual responses and helps answer questions or to custom tasks.
As per Meta, “With these updates, you'll be able to talk to Meta AI in real-time using your own voice and send photos and have it edit them.” With the press and hold of the waveform button, users can ask anything, and let Meta AI provide the information they’re curious about.
Moreover, it will offer a personalized experience with a variety of voice options, including celebrity voices from around the globe. These voices will include Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key, and Kristen Bell. Previously, Meta had introduced AI chatbots based on the ‘personalities’ of many popular celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Snoop Dogg, and Tom Brady.
In addition to this, you can now send a photo to Meta AI for instant answers and editing. For instance, you could snap a picture of a menu in a foreign language and ask for a translation or take a photo of any billboard to get more information about that area. Meta AI can also edit your photos by adding, removing, or changing elements.
