Popular messaging platform WhatsApp has been used by millions of users worldwide over the past few years and continues to be updated with new features and improvements. However, Meta has now decided to cease support for more than older 35 handsets by 2024 end. Users who own these devices are advised to back up their chat history ahead of the deadline to avoid any loss of data and will need to upgrade to newer devices.

The popular messaging app is said to have set new minimum requirements for its smartphone users. Currently, the minimum system requirement to run the app on smartphones is Android 5.0 or later, and iPhones running on IOS 12.0 or later. If you are still using any of these Android phones or iPhones in 2024, we suggest you upgrade to any latest smartphones right away.
